I am honored to submit my eligibility for the office of President of the Jackson State University Houston Area Alumni Chapter. As a dedicated and passionate alumnus, I am committed to continuing the legacy of excellence and service within our chapter.
I am a proud 2010 and 2013 graduate of Jackson State University and a Life Member of the National Alumni Association. For the past 10 years, I have been an active, financial and engaged member of the Houston Area Alumni Chapter, consistently demonstrating my commitment to supporting our university and local chapter.
I have had the privilege of serving in several leadership capacities. I am currently serving as the 2nd Vice President of Student Recruitment for the second consecutive term. In my current role I am leading initiatives to attract prospective students to Jackson State University through college fairs, student send-off events and fostering meaningful connections between alumni and future Tigers. Additionally, I have consistently contributed my time and talent to our chapter’s fundraising efforts by serving as the Co-Chair for our Annual Fundraising Event by helping to secure vital resources that support our chapter’s fundraising goals.
Furthermore, I have served as Secretary, ensuring effective communication and record-keeping for the chapter. I also proudly served as the Committee Chair for Vendors for the Boots and Blues Gala, where I played a key role in organizing and executing a successful event. In recognition of my contributions, commitment to leadership and community engagement I was awarded the Rising Star Award at the chapter’s Boots and Blues Gala in 2017 and received the JSU Young Alumni Achievement Award in 2018.
Beyond my leadership roles within the chapter, I have avidly supported many local and national programs and events, demonstrating my dedication to promoting the legacy of Jackson State University and strengthening connections among alumni and supporters.
I have a clear understanding of the chapter by-laws and the responsibilities of the various office bearers, which equips me to effectively fulfill the duties of President. My experience in goal setting, goal monitoring, and budgeting ensures that I can develop strategic plans and manage resources efficiently. In addition, I possess the skills needed to run meetings effectively, maintain organized and productive discussions, and delegate tasks proficiently to maximize member involvement and collaboration.

With my experience in leadership roles within the chapter, my long-standing dedication to our mission, and my unwavering passion for promoting the legacy of Jackson State University, I am confident in my ability to lead our chapter as President. I am committed to advancing our chapter’s initiatives and building upon the strong foundation laid by previous leaders.
I believe I meet the requirements for the office of 1st Vice President because I have served in this position for the last year. At the request of President Reed, I stepped into this position in the middle of a fiscal year and picked up the duties required of that position with fidelity.
My goal, when elected, will be to continue to grow our membership and welcome alum across the Houston area home to Thee. To do this I plan to host monthly social gatherings that will allow a time of fellowship and reconnecting. I also plan to encourage community service and assist all other officers in their desires for the betterment of the chapter, and our illustrious University.
I am excited to be considered for the position of First Vice President of Membership. Having previously served as First Vice President of Student Recruitment for the Houston Area Chapter, I have a strong understanding of the chapter’s by-laws, responsibilities, and organizational structure. My experience has equipped me with the skills necessary for planning, promotion, and retention strategies to support membership growth and engagement. Additionally, I am well-versed in leading effective meetings, ensuring that discussions are productive and aligned with the chapter’s mission. I am eager to apply my experience and leadership to further strengthen membership initiatives and support the continued success of the JSUHAA chapter.
As First Vice President of Membership for the Jackson State University Houston Area Alumni Chapter, my vision is to strengthen, engage, and grow our alumni network by fostering a sense of pride, connection, and commitment to our alma mater. My goal is to implement strategic recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives that not only increase membership but also enhance the overall alumni experience.

I have been a dedicated and active member of the JSU National Alumni Association since 2015. Since 2021, I have proudly held dual memberships with both the Scott County (MS) and Houston Area Alumni chapters. As a devoted supporter to JSU, I am deeply committed to the Student Recruitment Committee, recruiting and supporting the
next generation of JSU scholars.
During my undergraduate years, I was a member of Tiger Pride Connection/Blue Ambassadors and had the honor of serving as President. I was also an active member of the Pre-Alumni Council, where I had the privilege serving as Mr. Pre-Alumni. My unwavering dedication to JSU continues to drive my efforts in supporting the university and its future, preparing me to effectively serve as 2nd Vice President.
As the Houston Area Alumni Chapter 2nd Vice President, my goal is to uphold and expand the standards we have set over the years, while actively working to increase recruitment and engagement within the Houston area. I am committed to ensuring that more local students are given the opportunity to become proud JSU scholars.

After reviewing the job description, I believe that I will be able to fulfill the position and meet the necessary requirements of Chapter Secretary. I am currently a financial and paid member of the Houston Area Chapter. And, I have also been in this acting role for the past six months.
My mission statement to successfully meet the requirements for this position are: to reflect the role as a supportive and efficient member of our Chapter, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication, while positively representing our Great Institution of Higher Learning.
I am current member of the JSUNAA Houston chapter and have been for more than one year. I served as the Treasurer for Jordan PTSA. I am currently an auditor and have been working in the finance sector for over 25 years.
As the financial secretary, I would like to create a culture of financial transparency and accountability in our alumni chapter.
I have been an active member of the Houston Area Alumni Chapter since 2015. Since then, I have served as Chair of the Annual Signature Fundraising Event the past 3 years raising over $75,000 for student scholarships. For each year’s fundraising event, I create and maintain a budget sheet itemizing expenses, sponsorships and donations. With this information, I work closely with the presiding treasurer to confirm our records match, especially for individual giving. I also ensure all vendor deposits and payments are made accurately and on time.
I will uphold the duties of maintaining proper financial records associated with the chapter. This information will be shared with the executive board and general body during meetings and upon request. Financial policies established by the Development Foundation will be followed and executed to ensure our chapter maintains compliant.
