Freshman Scholarship Applications
Each year, the Scholarship Committee awards merit-based scholarships to high school seniors attending JSU in the Fall. High school underclassmen can download a copy of the application to get a view of the information required for you to apply.

The Houston Area Alumni Chapter is aware that problems sometimes arise for JSU students making it difficult to meet tuition obligations.
Jackson State University offers several types of scholarship funds to current and incoming students.
Start your scholarship search early. If you are an incoming freshman, start with your college readiness counselor as a resource. Keep in mind, you should never pay for scholarship or financial aid searches.
When researching scholarships, it's important to keep track of application deadlines. Always ensure that you have thoroughly read the requirements for scholarships that may require additional information. Also make sure your contact information is up to date.
Sometimes it can take months before scholarship sections are made. Remember most scholarships require you to be admitted to the university prior to offers being made. Become familiar with your JSU student email account and check it often.
